Rambu(tan) was aptly given her name for the unfortunate way we found her, she had fur growing out of her eyeballs! We presume this is why she was dumped down a dirt road where no one would see her, left to go blind and die alone .
Rambu was the absolute sweetest puppy and those furry eyes and that tender soul melted the hearts of everyone in the massive village that banded together against all odds to get her healthy.
Rambu spent much of her puppyhood with a cone on shuffling between her ophthalmologist and a dark room and what seems like millions of eyedrops. She endured all of it so sweetly and without any resentment. Her gentleness and her loving nature distinguishes her from all the other pups.
She always wants cuddles, you will find her climbing onto anyone’s lap who is sitting down, and making herself comfortable. She’s a little dopey at times, but it gives her even more character.
Her medical condition is stable and her hairy eyeballs (ocular dermoides if we are getting fancy about it) have almost no chance of recurrence, but she does have small scars on her eyes from her multiple surgeries which means sometimes in the dark she gets a little scared, and prefers well lit areas. So nighttime walks are best kept to a minimum until she knows the area well.
Other than her low night vision, she’s a confident and trusting girl who is easy to adapt to any place and to any people or pets, and guaranteed to steal everyone’s heart. The people who make her theirs will be some of the luckiest people in the world. Rambu is a very, very special girl who has been through so much, and never gave up home finding her happy ending.
