Hi! My name is Parsley, I am a female, I am about 28 kgs and 3 year of age! I am a black lab mix looking for a new furever family. My original owner is no longer able to take care of me after some big changes in their life.
I am a lab after all so I love to swim! I will bring you back the stick to throw for me again and again for as long as you’re willing to! Out of the water, fetch isn’t my favourite game but tug-of-war sure is!
I also really enjoy hikes and walks, especially if I can be on the trail with you on my 30 ft long lead – I love to explore and I stay within close distance without having to be told. On a shorter leash for neighborhood walks I still do well, but there’s always room for improvement – see below.
My areas for growth: meeting other dogs on leash and recall. I get along well with other dogs off leash, but I haven’t learned yet that when coming across other dogs on walks, staring is rude. With enough distance and some direction (and treats)
from you, I can walk by without getting too excited. Practicing recall will be something for us to work on together too – I do great in familiar settings, but like all of us, when I’m anywhere new or exciting, I get distracted.
I had a professional training session with a very well known and respected dog trainer who said “it would be hard to find a better dog than me” because I learned so quickly and my temperament overall is so sweet. Have I mentioned that I LOVE to cuddle after a fun day?
I would love an active furever family and maybe even a dog sibling to learn from and play with!
